FAQ

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is one of the dozens of naturally ocurring compounds found in the hemp plant called cannabinoids. It has been shown through research and scientific studies that CBD may possess a variety of beneficial properties by supporting a state of homeostasis or balance within our body. Unlike THC, CBD doesn't have any intoxicating, mind altering effects (high), making it a great option for people seeking the health benefits of cannabinoids without the psychoactive effects of medical marijuana.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

Just like we have a circulatory system or a nervous system for example, it was discovered in the 90's that we also possess another quite important system, The Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is composed of neurotransmitters (endocannabinoids), receptors and enzymes. It basically helps us by keeping our body in a state of homeostasis (balance) by interacting with other systems and regulating a lot of important functions such as inflammation, mood, hunger, sleep, body temperature, pain, memory, etc.

What is the difference between hemp and medical marijuana?

Technically, Industrial Hemp and marijuana are both a cannabis plant. Marijuana is any cannabis plant with a high content of THC making it federally illegal and classified as a schedule 1 drug by the Drug Enforcement Administration. On the other hand, "Hemp", by definition (and legally) cannot contain more than 0.3 percent THC. It's all about the cannabinoids content.

Is CBD legal?

Absolutely, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD when is derived from Industrial Hemp is 100% legal. You don't need a prescription or a medical card to purchase CBD products. Fun fact (and an important one):  CBD is CBD regardless of what the source is. That been said, if your CBD extract comes from Hemp plants, it is federally legal but since Marijuana can also produce CBD,  if that extract comes from a marijuana plant, it makes it illegal.

What are the health benefits of taking CBD?

Due to federal regulations we cannot make any statements or claims regarding the health benefits of CBD. We encourage you to do a quick research. There is a lot of information, scientific studies as well as an incredible amount of anecdotal evidence related to CBD. We also recommend that you consult with your medical provider before starting a new dietary supplement regimen.

What does natural CBD oil taste like?

We could describe the natural cbd oil flavor as a neutral, earthy, somewhat herbal with floral undertones.

How much CBD should I use? What is the right dose?

We believe there is no a specific answer to this question. With CBD there's no one-size-fits-all dose since every single one of us will respond differently to it. The ideal dose depends on several factors, such as the method of ingestion, body weight, metabolism, CBD sensitivity, how depleted your ECS is as well as the overall feeling you seek from it. Doses of 10 to 50 milligrams are commonly used for general health support.

Will CBD get me high?

No. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive so you won't have any "euphoric", mind altering effects.

Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD products?

Although we don't expect it to happen because our current line of products are made using our premium THC free hemp extract that shows non detectable levels on our labs reports, IUVO Labs cannot guarantee that you will or will not pass a drug test considering there are other factors that might affect the end results such as your body composition, your age, metabolism, diet, exercise and of course the drug test itself since some of them are more sensitive than others. We advise individuals that are subject to drug screening to consider this risk of failing a drug test before consuming any hemp related products. IUVO Labs shall not be held liable or responsible for any positive drug test results.

What is the shelf life?

CBD itself is a very stable substance. However, since we don't add any preservatives to our products, the carrier oils that we use could degrade over time, having a limited shelf life of about 12 months.

How should I store my CBD oil?

To preserve freshness of your products we recommend that you store them in a cool dark place away from direct sun light making sure that the cap is closed air tight after each use to prevent oxidation. we recommend that you refrigerate your oil if possible, this is not necessary but it might help extend the shelf life of your product.

Can I return a product?

All of our products are covered with our 30 day satisfaction guarantee "no hassle" return policy. Please refer to our Return & Refunds page for more details.
